How we choose
Our method, including its limits — because a review site that won't tell you how it works isn't worth much.
We start with the ingredient list
Marketing copy is written to sell; an ingredient list is regulated. We read the list first, paying attention to where an active appears in the order, because ingredients are listed by descending concentration down to 1%. A peptide named proudly on the front of the box and listed after the fragrance on the back is telling you something.
We weigh evidence honestly
Some ingredients in this space have a genuine research record. Others are promising but early, and a few are along for the ride. We try to say which is which, rather than flattening everything into the same confident language. Where the evidence is thin, that’s part of the review.
We consider the whole formula
An active doesn’t work in isolation. Packaging that exposes a light-sensitive peptide to air, a pairing that destabilizes it, or a texture unpleasant enough that you stop using it after a week — all of these decide whether a product does anything for you. Consistency beats potency.
What we don’t do
We don’t accept payment for placement or ranking, and we don’t let brands review coverage before publication. We also don’t run clinical trials — we’re a buying guide, not a lab, and we’d rather be clear about that than imply a rigor we don’t have.
